The democrats would never do that, they are the voice of the middle class and the little man.... they would never be segregationist, confederate slave owners, or klansman either... oh wait... they were all three.... oops!

Well not to take sides (I'm personally a Democrat), just saying on this particular issue, a few Democrats in southern California helped sponsor the bill, because they were brought into office with the support of Hollywood businesses, but most Democrats, including Obama, do not support the bill, while many Republicans support the bill. It's not a black and white Dem/Rep, it's moneyed special interests vs. common people.

Obama veto'd it right? I can't imagine he would flip-flop on the issue. I think (so far) that Ron Paul gets my vote

Noisecollector

You would probably be interested in the following pamphlet from Alabama

http://www.archive.org/details/AlabamaDemocracyUnitedDemocracyAndPartyHarmonyVs.HeflinRepublicanism

It has that Rooster logo and much more.

As for SOPA, it is bi-partisan, being introduced by John Conyers D-MD, and co-sponsered by Repubs such as Peter King and John Carter but, as garthus said, opposed by Paul.

Dudeman,

Where did you find that piece, it is interesting to see what the Democratic party stood for in the past.

University library.

BTW -- I should correct myself, it was Lamar Smith R-TX, who introduced SOPA, not Conyers
